Intermediate

Our team of active skateboarders consists of registered landscape architects, engineers, professional skatepark designers who successfully converted pubic areas into world-class skateparks.

However, a properly developed skatepark should not only consist of world-class skatepark terrain but also become an inviting public space for all to enjoy. With a variety of terrains, ISB will become a dynamic environment for intermediates who strive for improving their skills and overcoming new challenges.

To become a skilled skateboarder, you should try to improve and create some distinct and eye-catching skills. Having said that, being properly and thoroughly trained is an indispensable factor. With that in mind, we'll go over two of the most popular techniques in the following parts.

TIPS FOR INTERMEDIATE

  • CARVING TURNS

If you spend some time on a skateboard, turning is not really a challenge. Your trucks are meant to spin your board as you lean from side to side. Here are some tips:

  1. Bend your knees and go low before leaning into your turn.

  2. Lead with your shoulders and press your toes or heels in the direction you want to turn.

  3. Once you've completed the turn, return to your normal posture and roll away.

TIPS💡:

  1. Play with the tightness of your kingpin until it feels comfortable.
  2. Looser trucks are less stable, but they allow you to turn more easily
  3. Tighter trucks provide more stability, but they also limit your ability to turn.

  • KICK TURNS

Kick turns allow you to make a sharp turn at a low speed, which is useful for going around obstacles or changing directions on a ramp. Initially, we recommend practicing this maneuver without rolling on flat ground.

  1. Lean back and place your back foot on the kick-tail to lift the front wheels off the ground. This will enable you to rotate the board in the desired direction.

  2. As you raise, lead with your shoulders and torso. Your board will spin in the same direction as your head, shoulders, and hips.

  3. Once you've completed the turn, reapply weight to your front foot and roll away.

After honing your skills to a certain level, you may be offered a job as an ISB private tutor at a very attractive salary. Furthermore, you can freely practice at all I-Skateparks in Vietnam and receive a package of I-Skateboard accessories, which includes four premium lighting wheels, one I-SkateBoard bag, and one I-SkateBoard t-shirt.  A perfect combination of work and passion, why not?
